    Product Description

National Nail Pro-Fit 31 Degree Paper Collated Strip Framing Nails

National Nail ProFit paper tape collated nails reduce the risk of having material stuck under the nail head, which leaves the top of the fastener exposed. The paper around ProFit nails is driven into the wood along with the fastener.

    • For use in general rough framing and construction applications
    • For use in 30-34 degree framing nailers
    • Available in a variety of sizes, finishes and quantities.

    ProFit Nail Coatings Terminology:

Brite (bright): Nails have no coating to protect the steel and the fastener is susceptible to corrosion if exposed to high humidity or water. These nails are not recommended for exterior use or in treated lumber, only for interior applications where no corrosion protection is needed. Most often used for interior framing, trim and finish work.

Electro galvanized: Nails are subjected to a zinc plating process in which a layer of zinc is bonded to steel in order to protect them against corrosion. EG nails have a smooth, shiny finish and are most often used in areas where minimal corrosion protection is needed.

Exterior galvanized: Nails are subjected to a high-grade, anti-corrosion surface treatment consisting of three layers: 1) metallic zinc, 2) a high-grade anti-corrosion chemical conversion film, and 3) a baked ceramic top coating. Nails are most often used in outdoor applications - meets ASTM B117.

Hot dipped galvanized: This is the most common method of galvanization in which iron, steel or aluminum nails are coated with a thin zinc layer by passing them through a molten bath of zinc. The result is very high corrosion resistance suitable for some acidic and treated lumber. These nails will corrode over time as the coating wears, but generally are sufficient for the lifetime of the application. Most often used in outdoor applications - meets ASTM A153.

Stainless steel: Nails with stainless steel coating are used where both the properties of steel and corrosion resistance are required. Although stainless steel does not easily corrode, it isn’t fully stain proof - certain conditions can and do affect it, such as low oxygen, high salinity, or poor circulation environments.
